Hillarie became the Executive Director of the McKinleyville Family Resource Center in 2010. She has guided the development and implementation of the Center at McKinleyville, a multi-organizational space where key partners in community well-being come together with a shared commitment to support families, reduce barriers, and encourage staff to work together in meaningful ways. She strives to build a work environment where people are treated with respect, encouraged to continue to learn, and have the time and support to build relationships with each other. Hillarie has also worked with Cal Poly's Social Work Department to provide supportive intern placements at the McKinleyville Family Resource Center.
