*  The purpose of this community project is to find out which service providers in Humboldt County provide bilingual services to monolingual Spanish-speaking clients, and what some of the challenges are for service providers when working with the Latino population in regard to domestic violence issues.

*  This research examined the high recidivism rate among substance use and reoccurring criminal behavior within Humboldt County.

*  This study surveyed clients of a court-ordered Batterer Intervention Program to investigate whether these clients had witnessed or experienced family violence in during childhood.

*  The purpose of this project is to identify and create needed information and training material on the concurrent planning process in foster care taking place through Child Welfare Services in Humboldt County.

*  The focus of this project is to provide a free class that introduces American Sign Language (ASL) and raises awareness of deaf culture to the community. Social network media and word of mouth was utilized for recruitment.

*  The goal of this research is to explore perceived stress and everyday discrimination of students of color.

*  The purpose of this community project is to seek to find if it would be beneficial to have a campus based Al-Anon group and possibly raise awareness and education about Al-Anon to Cal Poly Humboldt students, emphasizing that the problem of alcoholism affects the immediate and extended family and friends of individuals with the disease.

*  This project focuses on implementing and sustaining a mental health peer support “warm line” for Humboldt County; one that does not currently, exist. This type of “warm line” can assist our community by increasing resources, decreasing social isolation, and achieve rapport with relationships regarding peer to peer support.

*  This community project involved interviews with same-sex survivors of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) to further explore their experiences seeking formal support in Humboldt County. 

*  The purpose of this project is to identify both available and needed grief resources and services in Northern Humboldt County from Trinidad to Eureka.

*  This community project has been done in partnership with the Redwood Coast Regional Center (RCRC) and seeks to fit the needs of service coordinators serving transition age clients and their families.

*  This project looked at and compared the Grand Ronde Tribe foster program with that of Humboldt Counties in an attempt to find what has worked in a successful program in an effort to make improvements to Humboldt County’s foster care program. Emphasis for this project was placed on the recruitment and retention of Indigenous foster families as well as addressing the challenges for potential foster families in rural areas.

*  In an attempt to support community members interested in increasing their capacity to relate to death and dying, a two-part community training was developed and offered.

*  The researcher created and disseminated a questionnaire to parents and primary legal caregivers of minor clients of the Redwood Coast Regional Center (RCRC) to explore parent attitudes, beliefs, concerns, and hopes about puberty and sex education regarding their children with developmental disabilities, identify barriers to discussing sex education topics with their children, and identify barriers to accessing sex education resources.

*  This is a mixed methods, retrospective program evaluation of the Spare Change Peer Education and Teen Theatre Troupe (Spare Change) for the academic school years between 2006/2007 – 2010/2011. Spare Change is a sexual health education program that has been run by Six Rivers Planned Parenthood in Eureka, California since 1995.

*  This project constructed and produced a Transitional Handbook for youth with developmental disabilities (DD). 

*  This project researched and analyzed Cal Poly Humboldt (Humboldt) student themes related to transforming traditional non-edible landscape to edible landscape as a means to address the growing issue of food insecurity among university student populations.

*
  This document seeks to encourage the development of allies to the LGBTQI (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning/queer and intersexed) community as they are accessing social services. 

*  This project sought to lay the groundwork for an outreach effort by CASA of Humboldt to better communicate with community professionals (care providers, teachers and school staff, medical and mental health providers, social workers, probation officers, and other court personnel.)

*  The purpose of this project is to develop an understanding of the need for anti-bullying programs in grade levels K-12 of the public educational system.

*
  The purpose of this project was to evaluate the parenting and cognitive bio-social classes provided by Paso a Paso in Fortuna, California. The project’s goal is to utilize feedback from participants and evaluate the effectiveness of these classes.

*  This project consists of the analysis of several short surveys based on a prepared presentation, evaluating the current knowledge and resources available in Humboldt County that address the link between domestic violence, child abuse/neglect, elder abuse/neglect, and animal abuse/neglect and the effectiveness of the presentation.

*  The purpose of this project was to identify barriers to community-wide disaster preparedness in Manila, California.

*  This study explored the differences between academic, social, emotional, and physical activity self-efficacy between perpetrator and victim groups in middle school students.

*  This project was developed in partnership with Alice Birney Elementary School in Eureka, California and seeks to address the need of support for families in the Elementary grade levels.

*  The purpose of this project is to develop a case management manual to guide MFRC caseworkers through the DR process. This will foster a cohesive case management team, and help the MFRC develop early intervention methods. 

*  The purpose of this research is to take a closer look at the most recent reform to health care coverage and policy implemented in 2013, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act PL 111-148.


*  This project consisted of a presentation to a group of social work students who were preparing to work in this community, Humboldt County, so they would be able to recognize signs of exploitation, advocate for survivors, change policy, and spread information as well as change the perception of colleagues in the profession who may be unaware of the issue.
