Danielle Cenotti
Community Relations Administrative Support Assistant
After receiving Associates Degrees in Social and Behavioral Sciences, I decided to pursue Early Childhood Education. After receiving another Associates Degree and my teaching certificate, I worked as a Preschool Teacher at Humboldt Educare Preschool from 2014 to 2017 before returning to school. I received my Bachelor's degree in Recreation Administration from Cal Poly Humboldt in 2019. This lead me to work as a Park Ranger for the USDA Forest Service at a Bear Observatory in Wrangell, Alaska for two seasons. I spent those seasons walking trails with both black and brown bears, meeting tourists from around the world, and driving to work in a skiff from the float house I lived on in the Bay. My life was redirected during the pandemic when I continued working as a Substitute Teacher and Testing Proctor for Eureka City Schools for five years. In 2023, I began working for the Social Work Department at Cal Poly Humboldt. As the Community Relations ASA, I manage much of the department outreach through the website, newsletter, social media, and event planning.
Personally, I am happily married to my amazing husband and serve as the pet to two cats. I love dancing, being outside, reading fantasy novels, but more than anything I love making artwork, and practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Women's Self Defense. I am a member of the National Women's Martial Arts Association and am currently pursuing my certification as an Empowerment Self Defense Instructor. I have a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and I co-teach the Women's BJJ class on Friday nights at Humboldt Jiu Jitsu in Arcata.
