Biography: 

Serenity Bowen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's degree in Social Welfare from U.C. Berkeley with an emphasis in Native American Studies and Children and Families. She has been active in the field of social work for over 25 years with a focus on youth and family services. Her work in the field includes children's mental health, child welfare, child abuse and sexual assault prevention, crisis intervention, advocacy and education, school counseling, family mediation and homeless youth street outreach. She has served in various county and non-profit youth and family services agencies in Humboldt County and the Bay Area and is committed to the well-being and healing of at-risk youth affected by trauma and abuse. In addition to her work as a lecturer at Humboldt State University's Social Work Department, Serenity works directly with clients in her therapy practice.
