Yvonne Doble

Director of Field Education & Lecturer

Biography:

Having grown up in Humboldt County, the challenges and perspectives of working in rural communities are a foundation of my practice. I graduated from Oberlin College with a self-designed major in Community-Based Education with the goal of returning to do community work here. I spent almost a decade providing training and support to volunteers serving children in the child welfare system, through local and state-wide CASA programs prior to receiving my MSW from Humboldt. I began teaching in the social work program at Humboldt state in Fall of 2012 and now serve as Director of Field Education.

My professional interests are practical structures for engaging in solidarity and accountability, implementing community-responsive models for engagement, and supporting those with lived experience in systems to be part of policy change.
